Botulinum toxin Type A is a neurotoxin. Indicated for aesthetic use, when injected into the muscle it produces a temporary muscle relaxation of the muscles responsible for expression lines, commonly called between the eyebrows, crow's feet and forehead (glabellar lines, crow's feet and frontal horizontal lines).

What is it for?

There are two types of botulinum toxin, type A and type B. Although in the field of aesthetic medicine, type A is used to reduce expression wrinkles in the upper third of the face.
Botulinum toxin is safe and has an effect only on dynamic wrinkles or expression lines, which are those that are formed as a result of performing different gestures with the facial muscles.
Botulinum toxin type B has other medical uses, such as hyperhidrosis.
Procedure

Previously disinfected area to be treated with infiltration points identified (forehead, frown and crow's feet).
It is important not to massage or press the treated area and not to do physical exercise or lie down in the next 4-5 hours.
The improvement of expression lines generally takes place during the week after treatment with Botulinum Toxin.
To maintain the results, reapplication is required once the effect has worn off, as the results are temporary. However, the intervals between treatments should not be less than three months.
